Equine Rubber Surfacing
Newmarket Equine Surfacing is a specialist, hand-laid rubber system by Secret Equine—robust, self-draining, shock-absorbing, and non-slip. It’s trusted across leading yards (incl. Jockey Club Estates and Ascot). Designed to reduce concussion on hard ground, it can benefit joints and respiratory comfort by lowering impact; some vets debate links to reduced pulmonary oedema.
Where can it be installed?
Anywhere you need grip and impact control: inside stables, yard walkways, paddock entrances, exercise routes, walkers, and horseboxes/loading ramps.
It can be cambered/sloped to suit terrain and finished with a neat lipped edge in stables. Base requirement: must be laid on concrete or a well-compacted Type 1 or Type 2 sub-base.
Costs, care & warranty
From £75–£150 per m² (typical ~£90/m² for standard black) Custom colours available (POA)
Our team hand-lays the surface in sections for the ideal bounce; allow min. 12 hours (ideally 24) before use. Low maintenance: the surface is self-draining—simply sweep(manual or machine) and jet-wash, with a weekly wash-down recommended.
Guarantee: 10 years for weather, use, and environment. (Note: horses on certain medications or poor shoeing may void warranty—ask for full terms.)
